something pretty

I have been feeling the need to post some prettiness here...

after my terrible-horrible-no-good-very-bad-day post.

I had some errands to run today, and as I passed by the flower 

section these little beauties started singing to me.....

(I only buy flowers that sing to me)

So they came home with me and we played a while....


a nice bright spot on this cold gray January day.

I got out our old bottle collection...

and the wicker table I got at the thrift store this week.

I have been eyeing it for a while.....

And then I saw one in a very cool house 

in a very cool magazine and I couldn't get back there

 fast enough.

Not only was it still waiting for me after the holidays, 

it was marked down. 

Here's the really cool thing about this wicker table...

it has a skirt. (and John Derian has one)

So the flowers got around a bit...

and we had fun.

And I finally cleared the dining room table of the 

wreckage that was left from Xmas.

And put it on the floor :-}

guess what I'm doing this weekend.....

Also some cooking...

finishing up the New Year's cards...

and a little family excursion...

involving bathing suits. ruh-roh.

As you can see, it still looks like 

Christmas around here...

I figure I have 12 days to be legit...

and then I figure it has to come down

 before the recycling folks won't take

 it anymore.....

but I'm so reluctant. I love it.

I can take down everything else.

 Just let me keep the tree...
